Second arrest made in fatal Linda Vista shooting
A man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in Linda Vista in 2022. A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in 2022 in Linda Vista, San Diego. Arturo Diaz, 25, is accused of murdering 41-year old Johnny Ramirez, who was pronounced dead at the scene. This arrest follows the arrest of Eduardo Vasquez, another suspect in October. The shooting occurred on July 24, 2022. Diaz was arrested during a traffic stop and booked into jail for one count of murder.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in Linda Vista in 2022.
Around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, detectives arrested 25-year-old Arturo Diaz for the death of 41-year-old Johnny Ramirez. He is the second suspect to be arrested in this case after another man, Eduardo Vasquez, was taken into custody in October.
On July 24, 2022, police responded to a report of a man down in the 2200 block of Ulric Street in Linda Vista. Upon arrival, they discovered a man — later identified as Ramirez — with a gunshot wound to his upper back, authorities said. Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 5:30 a.m., despite life-saving efforts.
After spending the past year and a half investigating, police said Diaz was arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday at 5300 El Cajon Boulevard without incident. He was booked into jail for one count of murder.
