SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Cars lined up around the Stars and Stripes gas station in Miramar on Monday morning, all hoping to take advantage of a $3-per-gallon gas offer from California gubernatorial… California gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton and state controller candidate Herb Morgan offered $3 per-gallon gas at a gas station in Miramar during a campaign event. The event is aimed at providing relief to drivers feeling the pinch at the pump. If elected, Hilton plans to lower gas prices, including stopping costly foreign imports and reducing regulations that make it twice as expensive to refine oil into gasoline here compared to Louisiana. He also plans to use the hidden tax on gas to fund high-speed rail projects. The offer was limited to the first 150 vehicles and organizers plan to hold more events in the near future.
