Rainbow Wahine Water Polo Concludes four-game homestand against UC San Diego

The Rainbow Wahine swept last weekend’s Big West meets against Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge. The University of Hawaii Water Polo team is set to conclude their four-game homestand against UC San Diego. The Rainbow Wahine are undefeated in conference play and have moved up to No. 2 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Women’s Varsity Top 25, marking their highest ranking of the season. The team is 14-1 against UCSD at home and has won their last five games against them. Senior attacker Alba Bonamusa Boix is the point leader with 64 goals and 35 goals this season. UH will next face UC Irvine and Long Beach State on April 5 and 7.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - University of Hawaii Water Polo fans are encouraged to “Get Down at the Duke” as the Rainbow Wahine finish their four-game homestand against UC San Diego.

The Rainbow Wahine swept last weekend’s Big West meets against Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge.

The Rainbow Wahine are undefeated in conference play and they enter the game 3-0 in the Big West. They also moved to No. 2 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Women’s Varsity Top 25, matching their highest ranking of the season.

At home, the Rainbow Wahine are 14-1 against UCSD and have won their last five meetings — UCSD however brings a seven-game winning streak to Honolulu.

16 players have at least one goal this season. Senior attacker Alba Bonamusa Boix enters the week as point leader with 64 and has 35 goals.

The Rainbow Wahine have also claimed a program record five Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week awards.

UH will head on the road to face UC Irvine and Long Beach State on April 5 and 7.
