One of the best senior facilities is in La Jolla: study
The San Diego area is a popular destination for seniors to retire. Online platform, Seniorly, an online platform that provides access to thousands of senior living communities in the US, has named the top senior facilities in 2024. The top five senior facilities were located in La Jolla, California, with Casa de Mañana ranking at No. 5 and features amenities such as 12-16 hour nursing, 24-hour call system, and 24-hours supervision. The study surveyed 500,000 online reviews across 60,000 facilities in the U.S. and selected 347 facilities based on six categories including cleanliness, dining services, staff ratings, value, care services and overall resident satisfaction.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego area is a popular destination for seniors to retire.
Seniorly, an online platform that provides access to thousands of senior living communities, recently released the top senior facilities in the U.S. for 2024.
Casa de Mañana, located at 849 Coast Blvd. in La Jolla, was ranked No. 5 on the list. The senior community offers picturesque views of the Pacific Ocean from the bluffs of the coastal city.
Some of the care services include 12-16 hour nursing, a 24-hour call system and 24-hour supervision, according to Seniorly. UC San Diego Jacobs Medical Center is also located nearby, while CVS Pharmacy is only a half-mile away.
The senior community features amenities like fitness programs, movie nights, scheduled activities, spa/sauna/wellness room, library, among others.
Several eateries and recreational spots are also within walking distance.
Another California spot to make the list was Crestavilla in Laguna Niguel coming in at No. 4.
Seniorly’s study analyzed 500,000 online reviews across 60,000 facilities in the U.S. based on six categories: cleanliness, dining services, staff ratings, value, care services and overall resident satisfaction. From that, 347 facilities were selected as the best facilities in the nation this year.
