The Vision of Children Foundation to host “Sip to See, Springtime Tea” to benefit Critical Vision Research

The Vision of Children Foundation will host its Annual Spring Tea on Wednesday, May 8, at a private club in La Jolla from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The co-chairs of this year’s “Sip to See, Springtime Tea” are La Jolla resident and VOC Advisory Board member Kristi Pieper and Rancho Santa Fe resident and VOC Advisory Board member Donna Vance. This fun midday event will feature a full tea service with various savory tea sandwiches, sweet treats, and champagne. Guests will also enjoy a curated silent auction and opportunity drawing, along with private boutique shopping in which 25% of sales support Vision of Children’s mission.

Rancho Santa Fe residents Sam and Vivian Hardage established Vision of Children in 1991 after their son, Chase, was born with ocular albinism. At the time, no researchers were studying this rare genetic vision disorder, for which no treatments or cures exist. The Hardages were determined to encourage scientific research to find a cure for this congenital condition.

Proceeds from “Sip to See, Springtime Tea” will help fund critical vision research to find cures for genetic vision disorders and childhood blindness and support services for visually impaired children and their families.
