More than 80 friends and supporters of all ages gathered recently for a day of nature walks, crafting, and educational presentations at The Escondido Creek Conservancy’s Outdoor Education Elevated fundraiser.

The event was hosted at the newly renovated Escondido Creek Conservancy headquarters on the Mountain Meadow Preserve in Hidden Meadows in North County. The preserve was protected forever by a partnership of the conservancy, San Diego County Parks and Recreation and Camp Pendleton.

During the event, the conservancy raised $50,000 to help fund current programs and expansion of new outdoor education programs that serve youth and adults across North County. This event included a raptor presentation from Sky Hunters, a snake education

booth hosted by County Parks and Recreation, nature sketching, guided hikes throughout the preserve, and a handcrafted art silent

auction.

The fundraiser will become an annual event; next year’s event is scheduled for May 3, 2025.
