DOJ to San Diego ROV: Hold 1,709 ballots or face consequences

The DOJ wants private records on 1,709 San Diego County voters, and ballots held until citizenship is verified. The Department of Justice has ordered the San Diego County Registrar of Voters (ROV) to hand over private information on 1,709 voters and set aside their ballots until their citizenship can be verified. The letter, delivered by California Southern District U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon, states that anyone whose citizenship cannot be independently verified should have their ballot set aside until citizenship can't be verified, and warns of legal consequences for not complying. The U.N. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of California is the same office that sent subpoenas for the information of 25 voters to the San Die County registrar in an investigation that led to four people being charged criminally for voting related crimes in the county. The California Secretary of State is responsible for determining eligibility for voter registration, and there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in San Diego or California.
