SAN DIEGO, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday morning on Interstate 5 in San Diego, authorities said.

The fatal crash happened at about 5 a.m. on southbound I-5 near the Imperial Avenue exit in the East Village neighborhood, according to the California Highway Patrol's incident logs. A pedestrian was seen running against traffic on the right shoulder of the freeway.
