The Port of San Diego, California, has been recognized as a convenient destination for cruise visitors due to its convenience and numerous attractions. The city is located just steps away from attractions such as the USS Midway, a museum aircraft carrier, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. The port is also near the city’s airport. Renee Rose, the port’�s Maritime Commercial Manager, highlighted the port's location, mild weather year-round, and a busy nearby Navy base. The cruise business has been developing since the late 1980s and is experiencing its biggest year in over 15 years. The upcoming season is expected to bring about 700,000 cruisers to San Diego with approximately 91 percent being American travelers.
