San Diego Wave and goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan agree to terminate contract
Sheridan's deal had been due to run through to the 2026 season. The San Diego Wave and Canada international goalkeeper and team co-captain Kailen Sheridan have mutually agreed to terminate her contract with the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) team. Sheridan had been due to run through to the 2026 season and was named NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year in 2022. She became a significant player, known for her assertive leadership and close relationship with Wave supporters. Sheridan's departure follows numerous changes to the team's roster and front office, including several coaching changes and new ownership. The Wave also announced the signing of two-time NCAA champion and defender Mimi Van Zanten from Florida State.
