Interfaith group's lawsuit against pro-Palestinian protesters will proceed, federal judge rules

A federal judge largely denied a motion to dismiss a lawsuit accusing pro-Palestinian protesters of disrupting interfaith worship events in San Diego County. A federal judge in San Diego has ruled in favor of an interfaith group, the Christian & Jewish Alliance, against pro-Palestinian protesters who it alleges targeted their worship services and members over their support for Israel. The group accuses eight individual defendants and 40 unnamed defendants of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinical Entrances Act, or FACE Act, which allows for criminal or civil charges against someone who obstructs the entrance of a medical facility but also prevents the obstruction of places of worship. The plaintiffs claim that the protesters disrupted and blocked three interfaith events it hosted last year. However, U.S. District Judge Andrew Schopler denied a motion by the defendants to dismiss the lawsuit.
